What Is Acrylic Plastic Used for
Acrylic plastic is a synthetic plastic material containing derivatives of acrylic acid. The most common acrylic plastic is polymethyl methacrylate which is used to make Crystallite, Lucite, Plexiglas and Perspex. Acrylic plastic is tough, slow-burning and has exceptional clarity and is therefore suitable for making airplane windshields, automobile taillights and skylights. Acrylic plastic is often used in place of glass.
